There's a song that a friend and I used to listen to together. He introduced me to it and I immediately fell in love. There's a point in the song that, during my first listen, made me tear up and the only way I could describe it, was like a sunrise

full of energy and hope

The song isn't in English and translating it? Well, the the lyrics aren't quite as profound and breathtaking as I'd hope lol though lovely, don't get me wrong! lol

But this song isn't about the lyrics to me

My sunrise isn't found in the lyrics at all

Coffee (of course) and a few magazines in tow, I took an early trip down to the beach this morning

I watched the sunrise with my own little soundtrack running through my mind 

I thought of that friend and how much I've really missed him

I've been known to sit myself in a field of pretty flowers and grass and be completely lost and content in my own little world that only I can understand

Today was one of those days

I visited Just Another Tequila Sunrise and instantly fell in love with one of it's charming little valleys that was under the watch of a huge titan tree

What started as just a quick look around turned into an afternoon of sitting in the tall grass under that protective tree and watching dandelions whisper by

I turned on the music stream completely thrilled and instantly at ease to hear that the first song played was one of my favorites

It fit my mood perfectly and it took over from there 

as music often does

The crowds had gone and all that was left was the beautiful sound of crashing waves and a sky painted purple pink

The sunset was gorgeous as was it's reflection on the water in front of me

I dipped my toes in to find the temperature perfectly inviting so I ventured out just a bit further

The seagulls called to one another and I paused to take it all in

What a lovely way to end a day

Just a Calm Summer Evening

My favorite thing about Summer?

It isn't the beach and working on my tan (For those of you who tan beautifully, I'm jealous! lol)

It isn't the pool parties and cute summer clothes

And it's not the BBQs and sparklers we find in July

All of those things are wonderful though what I really love about summer isn't found under the sunshine and waves

It's found under a beautiful moon and soft twinkling stars

When you're able to walk outside and feel that soft, cool yet warm, calming breeze through your hair

The world feels silent and asleep and as if the moon and those stars were placed in the sky just for you

You're aware of your softest breaths and your clothes draped on your body

You feel how small you are in this great big world and how much possibility is really out there

Taking a nice deep breath and closing your eyes, soaking it all in before you have to go back inside for the night

That... is my favorite thing about summer

Beauty of a Sunset

There are few things in life comparable to a sunset.

When life gets crazy, gazing upon one reminds me that we're in the hands of the One who created it so I shouldn't trouble myself with insignificant things.

On wonderful days, when everything seems to be going just right, gazing upon one reminds me that there are gifts all around us if we only take the time to stop and appreciate them.

I strongly believe that everything happens for a reason. The good, the bad, and all the in betweens. I read a quote recently that's been running itself over and over in my mind;

Trilogy

With so many unexpected twists and turns over this past year I've come to appreciate the now, all that I'm blessed with in this moment, to embrace change and learn from the past. I'm seeking to humble myself and find a calmer place of being. Though it's been difficult, I'm excited for the now as well as what's ahead.
