One of my very favorite traditions of the holiday season is all the festive baking that takes place! I love to tie on my cutest apron, cover the kitchen in flour, and laugh at my horribly misshapen snowflake and gingerbread men cookies. As long as I have his favorite treats packed, Watson is willing to follow me anywhere and today was no different!

I made up a picnic basket for us and we went down to the park.

Unable to concentrate on anything but the basket, knowing that that's where I was keeping the goods, Watson was a persistent little devil. People walking by must have thought I never feed the poor little guy!

 Once he got his treats though, he forgot mom even existed!

There was so much for him to get into at the park...including a huge pile of leaves.

He dove and all I heard was rustling and crunching until his sweet little leaf covered head popped up!

We stayed and played until the sun was going down and Watson's little tummy began to rumble again, letting me know it was time to get him home for his dinner.

He's such a silly boy

More often than not I'm just shaking my head at how much of a princess she can be

We call each other stupid like it's going out of style (term of endearment between us really) 

But no matter how crazy this girl can make me lol

I love her so very much

We first met in second life over six years ago and she's been putting up with me in both worlds ever since

Since then, we've been through a ton together

She's there for me in an instant if I need her to be

We were going to take our new plane out for a spin

We were going to swoop this way..

There was just one sliiiight little problem...

a detail really...

...Neither of us knew how to fly a plane

Luckily for us,

I found a "Beginner's Guide to Flying an Airplane" manual tucked under the seat next to those big red flashy button thingies

"Step One:" it read

"Start the Engine."

Oh! Ok! Easy enough..start the engine...

Which button did that though?

The buttons all looked the same to us and while I've never been one to shy away from pressing big red buttons when I probably shouldn't,

something was telling me that maaaaybe doing that today wouldn't have been the best idea

So...

Benny and I didn't go flying today, but hey!

we got to wear cute clothes and flying goggles right?!

I took a little cruise down to Pinoy Hideout this evening

Let me tell you ladies...

just because you caaan wear heels to the beach

I had a fun and awkward time making my way through the sand in them

but the view was worth it!

It was so nice to wander around town after

just browsing shops and enjoying an ice cream

It was the perfect time of day

The colors of sunset inspire me so much

There's a warmth and hope in the yellows, reds, and oranges that just lifts my spirit

I guess it makes sense then why I claim my favorite color to be yellow!

the smell of the paper

believing that each word on every page was written for the sole purpose of my eyes seeing them

Sometimes those words tell me the most beautiful truths

 other times those words hurt and confuse me

there are times I love where an author takes me

There's a song that a friend and I used to listen to together. He introduced me to it and I immediately fell in love. There's a point in the song that, during my first listen, made me tear up and the only way I could describe it, was like a sunrise

My favorite thing about Summer?

It isn't the beach and working on my tan (For those of you who tan beautifully, I'm jealous! lol)

It isn't the pool parties and cute summer clothes

And it's not the BBQs and sparklers we find in July

All of those things are wonderful though what I really love about summer isn't found under the sunshine and waves

It's found under a beautiful moon and soft twinkling stars

When you're able to walk outside and feel that soft, cool yet warm, calming breeze through your hair

The world feels silent and asleep and as if the moon and those stars were placed in the sky just for you

You're aware of your softest breaths and your clothes draped on your body

You feel how small you are in this great big world and how much possibility is really out there

Taking a nice deep breath and closing your eyes, soaking it all in before you have to go back inside for the night

That... is my favorite thing about summer
